Faribault Woolen Mill Retail Store to Open on November 18

Holiday shopping just became so much easier! The Faribault Woolen Mill will be opening a retail store at their manufacturing facility starting on November 18. The store will only be open from 10am until 3pm on Friday’s until the end of the year.
The owners have indicated they will be opening a full-time store in the Faribault area sometime in 2012.

Paradise Center for the Arts Presents MAS*H Oct. 28-30 & Nov. 3-5

M*A*S*H is set in the Korean War and was written by Robert Hooker and adapted by Tim
Kelly and directed locally by Palmer Huff. The M*A*SH* story has spawned a successful movie and long-running TV series. This hilarious stage play is being presented October 28-30 and November 3-5 at the Paradise Center for the Arts in downtown Faribault (www.paradisecenterforthearts.org).

M*A*S*H stands for Mobile Army Surgical Hospital, and joining it are two unpredictable madcaps, Hawkeye and Duke. They can’t be dealt with casually, however, because they are also two of the best chest surgeons in South Korea.
They decide to wage a campaign to get a young Korean to the United States and entered in a good school. The thread of this effort helps tie together the pileup of comic adventures that pyramid right before the eyes of an astonished and hysterical audience! Hawkeye has a scene with a woman psychiatrist who believes he’s been trying to lobster-trap mermaids in a rice paddy!

There’s ajolly encounter with the baby-talking Bonwit sisters,the worst tap-dancing act the U.S.O. ever sent overseas. A sergeant is selling dumb GIs fishing rights in the Bay of Phum. Radar Reilly, a soldier with incredible hearing, anticipates things before they happen. The proprietor of a painless dental clinic is cured of dark moods by the recreation of an old monster movie and a monster! It’s all here, including a little romance mixed in with dramatic moments and a genuine love of life.

Downtown Fall Festival/Chili Contest & Kid Parade

On Oct. 15 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in downtown Faribault, the annual Fall Festival will feature a chili cookoff. There is no fee to enter the contest, which will be judged by the public.
Faribault Foods is sponsoring the cookoff and has donated several different kinds of beans for contestants to choose from. The Fall Festival will also include a kid’s costume parade, pumpkin painting, burgers and brats from the Signature Bar & Grill and more.
If you are interested in making chili for the contest, the deadline to enter is Oct. 10. For more information contact the Chamber of Commerce & Tourism at 507-334-4381.
